Deception Point
by Dan Brown
3.8/5
Written by the bestselling author of The Da Vinci Code, Deception Point is a techno - thriller set on the eve of US Presidential Elections. Rachel Sexton, daughter of Senator Sexton (Presidential Candidate and most-likely-to-win), who works at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is called upon by the acting President of the US. The President tells Rachel about a massive discovery NASA has made and asks her to verify it, since NASA's integrity is already at stake due to high gross expenditure and low output. Rachel reluctantly agrees and flies to the Milne Ice Shelf, where she meets the team of 5 scientists the President himself has chosen for the task. After analysing the discovery NASA has made, Rachel is shocked to the very bone and knows that this is the perfect break for the President to survive through the elections. Meanwhile, Senator Sexton is doing all he can to condemn the President and make NASA's failure his main stance but he has another thing coming at him and his personal secretary, Gabrielle goes out of the way to find the truth.
A great plot has been set with Rachel and her companion Tom Holland (an oceanographer) surviving through a deadly ploy for their lives and finding out the real truth behind this great game.
The story overall was very well crafted and Dan Brown's usual suspense filled journey.
Dan has certainly done a marvellous job with the book and deserves a lot of credit for the story line and buildup.
The book also provides a lot of information regarding science and NASA which certainly makes it even better.
As always this one also has a great plot twist in the end and will keep u chilled to the bones.
